There are always conflicts in relationships where people are actively PRACTISING different religions.
NOMINAL members of a religion often coexist fine. I am of German/Dutch descent and my wife is of Ghanaian descent. Differences in culture pale next to differences in faith. I am including difference between CHRISTIANS. If one is “Word-Faith” and another rejects the “prosperity gospel” there is also friction. In the USA, where I live, people also make a religion of politics. A McCain/Palin backer in the same house as an Obama/Biden backer can remind one of the Catholic/Protestant Wars in Northern Ireland!

In business, identical ethical templates are critical. An ethical Christian (and unfortunately not all are) will seldom be able to convince a non-believer to be honest when there is money to be lost by having integrity, but the Christian is likely to compromise in the name of peace. When I was young, it was explained to me like this – if you are standing on a chair, it is impossible to pull someone standing on the floor up onto the chair, but it is easy for even a relatively weak person to pull you off balance so you fall.

What a great explanation you have posted, there is wisdom in your words. I believe that two from different walks may also co exist, but I don’t believe it will last very long when it comes to religion. Just as you said they will try, but one will win over the other. Light and dark can not reside in a room together.
